Should your kid have a smartphone? Well, given that there are about five pay phones left in all of North America, that answer is fairly simple – probably.

But things get a bit trickier when you think about when …and “give” – should you give your kid a magical device that costs several hundred dollars? I spoke to a reporter about this topic a while back, and I recently came across the interview.
